Design the window of the future

Project Info

Project Description

At the Université Catholique de Louvain, I have taken part in a project oriented towards energy savings and responsible consumption regarding housings. The objective was to explore different ways to encourage people to change their window sets for more eco-friendly products. Indeed, the glass park in Europe still contains 40% of single glazing windows, i.e. which are completely outdated and considerably increase the heating consumption (thus the CO2 production) of the houses. We worked in teams to propose innovative solutions to this problematic and to develop their prototypes. The project has been continued in a partnership with a company to enable its completion to a functional and reliable product. Through this experience, I have learned many things from my teammates and others. I have also familiarized with constructive team working methodologies and I have been introduced to prototyping tools such as 3D printers to gain independency in the design of solutions.
